Laminated Safety Glass is a type of safety glass made by sandwiching a layer of plastic—usually polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA)—between two or more layers of glass. This interlayer holds the glass together even when it breaks, preventing dangerous shards from flying.
How It Works:When laminated glass is broken, the inner plastic layer keeps the fragments bonded, maintaining the structural integrity.
This makes it much safer than regular glass, which shatters into sharp pieces.
Standard Structure: Glass + Interlayer + Glass
Can Be Customized: Multiple layers of glass and interlayer can be used for added strength (common in bullet-resistant or hurricane-rated glass).
Safety: Reduces risk of injury by keeping shards in place.
Security: Harder to break through, offering better protection against forced entry.
Sound Insulation: The interlayer helps dampen sound, making it great for noise control.
UV Protection: Blocks up to 99% of harmful UV rays, helping protect interiors from fading.
Durability: Resistant to impact and can withstand severe weather when properly rated.
