Saint-Gobain Reflective Glass is a type of glass produced by Saint-Gobain, a global leader in the production of construction materials. Reflective glass typically features a thin metallic coating that reflects a significant portion of solar radiation while allowing visible light to pass through. This makes it ideal for improving the energy efficiency of buildings by reducing heat gain from the sun.
🔍 Key Features of Saint-Gobain Reflective Glass:Reflective Coating: A metallic or metal oxide coating is applied to the surface of the glass, giving it a mirrored appearance and improving solar performance. The coating helps reflect UV and infrared rays, keeping the interior cooler.
Aesthetic Appearance: Reflective glass often has a sleek, modern look with a mirror-like finish, available in a variety of tints and colors. It can provide a distinctive aesthetic to buildings.
Energy Efficiency: By reflecting a substantial portion of the sun's heat, reflective glass helps keep buildings cooler, reducing the need for air conditioning and lowering energy bills. It also provides solar control.
Privacy: The reflective surface typically obscures visibility from the outside, making it ideal for buildings that require privacy, such as office buildings, banks, or residential apartments.
Durability: Saint-Gobain’s reflective glass is made with high-quality materials, offering durability and longevity, resisting wear and tear while maintaining its reflective properties over time.

Heat-Strengthened Glass is a type of semi-tempered glass that has been heat-treated to improve its strength and thermal resistance, making it about 2x stronger than regular annealed glass, but not as strong or break-resistant as fully tempered glass.
How It’s Made:The glass is heated to around 650°C (1200°F), then cooled more slowly than tempered glass.
This controlled cooling process builds internal stresses that enhance strength without making it shatter like tempered glass.
Strength: ~2x stronger than annealed glass; less likely to break under wind loads, thermal stress, or impact.
Breakage Behavior: If it breaks, it cracks in larger shards (less dangerous than annealed, but more than tempered).
Thermal Resistance: Can withstand temperature differences up to ~250°F (130°C) without breaking (annealed typically fails at ~70°C difference).
Non-Safety Glass: Not considered “safety glass” under most building codes unless laminated.
Building facades and curtain walls
Spandrel panels
Skylights (when laminated)
Glass railings and canopies
Applications requiring strength but not full shatter safety
